We are now just over a month away until the biggest event on Surrey’s business calendar, the Toast of Surrey Business Awards, gets underway. The illustrious event, which returns on 27 June, is well known for celebrating a wide range of companies across the local area of all sizes and types.
There is no industry that is not touched upon at the awards, and the ‘Excellence in Industry Award’ highlights this. Awarded to a company who has made significant strides to boost the work in their respective field, this award can be won by a business in any sector, be it science, manufacturing, technology and many more. It will be down to category sponsors, Nicholls Colton, to decide who will be taking home this coveted award with finalists being judged on the quality of the product or service they offer, as well as the dedication to the industry they are in.
Nicholls Colton are a business who provide advisory services to the construction industry. The company gathers data of the highest quality for their clients, both out in the field as well as their state-of-the-art laboratories. Ian Elliot is the CEO at Nicholls Colton and he explained why they chose to sponsor this particular award. He said: “Starting as a small family run company, over 50 years ago, Nicholls Colton Group understand how hard it is for companies to develop and be recognised. The ‘Excellence in Industry’ award supports the very finest companies the area has to offer and being associated with that is something all at Nicholls Colton group are proud of. This year the entries have been excellent, and we wish all the nominees the very best of luck!”
Surrey has a thriving business community which Nicholls Colton continue to support in a range of different ways. Ian discussed how supporting the Toast of Surrey Business Awards is just one way in which they do this. He said: “Nicholls Colton opened a southern office towards then end of 2017. Since then, we are continually expanding, providing employment opportunities and a great environment to work in. From our head office in Leicester we undertake apprentice and graduate programs, support local charities and work closely with local schools and colleages to provide workplace placement and advice to students. All of these are items we wish to develop in our southern office throughout 2018.”
The company are always looking to the future and Ian spoke about what plans the business has for the next year. He said: “Nicholls Colton aspire to grow in the current sectors we work in whilst maintaining our excellent service to clients. We are focused on expanding and developing our new southern office with the potential to find new premises and further staff. Like every year, we are looking to further our knowledge base, invest in new technologies and equipment and develop our staff.”
The ‘Excellence in Industry Award’ is one of 14 categories that are up for grabs at the black-tie ceremony, and finalists don’t have much longer to wait to see if they’ll be walking away with one of the awards at the event which takes place at Mercedes-Benz World in Weybridge.
