Judges are now in the midst of their deliberations for this year’s Toast of Surrey Business Awards, with nominees eagerly waiting to see whether they will be shortlisted as finalists for the region’s biggest business event. This includes those who have been nominated for this year’s ‘Start-up Business of the Year’ award.

Recognising companies that have only been in operation for a maximum of three years, this award celebrates businesses who look set to make an impact in the region for years to come. The category sponsors of the award this year, who will be responsible for deciding on the shortlisted finalists and eventual winner, is industry-lead printing company, KEP Print Group.

Established as a small family business in 1979, KEP have seen their offering grow significantly over the last three decades and now specialise in a wide range of services including point-of-sale, large format printing, digital and litho printing, graphic design and much more. The company’s team of more than 120 employees work alongside some of the biggest brands in the UK.Nicole Plowman

Nicole Plowman is the Marketing Director at KEP and discussed why the company chose to sponsor this particular award. She said: “We vividly remember those early years as a start-up company – the sleepless nights, the hard work, and the little victories. We want to help celebrate companies that have those same big dreams KEP had 40 years ago and help them reach their goals.”

She continued: “As a B2B company, we know how important it is to support other businesses in their growth. For all companies, the recognition of an award win, especially one with this level of prestige, can propel them into the public eye, enhance their PR, and give them that extra edge.”

As well as sponsoring the Toast of Surrey Business Awards, KEP are always keen to support local business communities in any way they can, and Nicole emphasised how they do this. She said: “KEP Print Group provides print product and services throughout the UK, and it is important to us to get to know the communities we serve. We are keen to promote and support UK-based businesses within their local communities.”

The company are continuing to develop their business and Nicole highlighted what the key focus will be for the business in the coming year. She said: “With the country’s renewed attention on the environment, our focus is on providing sustainable packaging and innovative paper and card-based solutions to eliminate the need for plastic packaging through our in-house cardboard engineering department. We are also focusing on offering our online services to even more clients, such as the online storefront and auto-origination artwork to ensure ease of ordering and consistent branding throughout our clients’ many store locations.”

The Toast of Surrey Business Awards will take place at Mercedes-Benz World in Weybridge in what is sure to be a fantastic occasion. The black-tie event will be hosted by comedian Mark Dolan and badminton legend Gail Emms MBE on the 27 June where businesses will finally find out whether they have been successful in their award endeavour.
